And Perry family members witnessed a naming ceremony take place, where the music room at the Museum was named the Jeff Chief Perry Music Room.

This was in appreciation of the many years of voluntary service Chief has freely given to the Museum. Chief is a life member and is also the Museum’s Historian and he also served as the President of the Rushworth Citizen band for 27 years even though he could not read or play any instrument.

Jeff had lived most of his life in Rushworth where he had his own butcher shop.

This is a fitting tribute to Jeff as he is has also played a leading role in many other Rushworth organisations.
