Fire in the Belly

Fire in the Belly is the name of a movie presently being made in Rushworth.

It is a story is set in 1917 and, the Historical Society has some of the items it has on display featured in it.

The Wizard a 1912 Fowlers Steam traction engine and it will be shown is some of the scenes.

While the old Rushworth phone switchboard which had served residents for many decades will also appear in the film. The switch board was once housed in the Post Office and required it to be operated manually 24/7.

It is always a talking point with visitors to the museum as younger ones find it hard to believe that this was once the way telephone calls were made.

Compared with today where everyone has a small mobile phone in their pocket which can make call, send text, and take photos which can be sent all over the world in a matter of a few seconds.

Visitors are always welcome to visit the museum when it is open or arrangements can be made for special occasions.
