Rushworth Museum

Well another year has slipped past us and we are now looking forward to 2016, let us all hope, it bring peace to the world and good health to all our families.

Special thanks to all the willing unpaid volunteers at the Museum. They give up their time to keep the Rushworth Museum open for all the visitors each weekend over the past 12 months. The Museum has over 4 000 items on display to be seen by visitors and by their comments in the visitors book it makes for interesting reading.

Also thanks to John and his team who regularly  fire up the Wizard (Rushworth’s own 103 years old Fowlers Steam Traction Engine) one of the very few still left in working order in Australia,  it is  driven  up and down High Street on market days . This is a grand feature for Rushworth and attracts many comments and people wanting take a photo.

The Wizard also takes pride and place in the Annual Easter Parade held on Easter Saturday. This is a parade enjoyed by young and old with people travelling from far and wide to see it.

Our Museum Staff also helps with family inquiries where they are able, and are often asked directions to the gold fields and old mines in the district.

On behalf of all the Museum volunteers we wish everyone a safe and happy new year.
