Rushworth Museum has an interesting year ahead in 2013
The Rushworth Historical society has been presented with a grant from the Shire of Campaspe, This substantial sum will pay for the resurfacing and general renovating the historical machinery compound at the rear of the Mechanics Institute building.
Thanks must go to our treasurer Heather, for pursuing the rather involved paper trail necessary to secure the much needed grant.
Another no less important innovation in the progress at the museum is the ongoing work by our genealogy, specialists Natalie and Tracey.
Both have spent many voluntary hours’ to digitizing our historical text on the collection of the Rushworth Chronicles which date back to the 1860s. In the future we intend to make such records and family histories available on line; we do hope that together with an increasing awareness of this web site will become an important part of Rushworth’s Tourist industry.
So when in Rushworth drop in and admire the bush garden beside the Museum which is a credit to our curator and gardened Hester.
We could not do without you Hester.
Do not forget the very popular Easter festival which is planned for Rushworth over Easter weekend which attracts’ visitors for all over Australia.
